About the festival
1994 was another treat. Organisers were now being inundated with requests from bands to play at the Festival. This was a wild year on stage, held across the 10th and 11th of December with a 2pm start, where the bands on the lineup all seemed to form a perfect set. The bill included the Dirty Three, whose soaring sonic emotions swirled among the giant ghost gums, alongside Magic Dirt, Spiderbait, Powder Monkeys, Fireballs and The Fauves. Anyone who witnessed the Powder Monkeys' seemingly never-ending incendiary rock workout at 3 in the morning got their money's worth. RIP Tim Hemensley.
