Meredith Music Festival

The lucky thirteenth Meredith, held December 12 to 14, 2003, on the one stage at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre. A genuine mixed bag, from the galaxies-beyond-legendary Radio Birdman in their only Victorian show, to the party phenomenon The Cat Empire, Perth's The Sleepy Jackson, Albuquerque's The Shins, uncompromising Welsh punks Mclusky and one-man band Bob Log III. Melbourne's Augie March took the Saturday sunset, Geelong's Magic Dirt closed Friday night, and Canadian alt-hip-hop kingpin Buck 65, Tim Rogers and the Temperance Union and Architecture in Helsinki carried the Sunday. Afghani sitar master Khalil Gudaz played Sunday morning, DJ John Idem spun a Rough History of Funk until dawn, and comedian Greg Fleet was special guest MC and commentator for the Meredith Gift. Master Jin Song Han Tai Chi and the Silence-loving traditions kept the weekend grounded.
