Donald Harrison Jr., known as "Big Chief," is a New Orleans-born alto saxophonist celebrated for blending hard bop jazz with funk and the Mardi Gras Indian tradition. A former student of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, he has collaborated widely and leads the Guardians of the Flame Mardi Gras Indians tribe.
