Leyla McCalla is a New Orleans-based cellist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist of Haitian descent, known for weaving together Haitian folk music, Creole traditions, and American folk and jazz. A former member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, her solo work draws on storytelling and politically resonant themes.
