Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band formed in Gothenburg in 1996 by guitarist Michael Amott. Known for combining aggressive riffing with melodic guitar harmonies, they gained wider recognition with vocalist Angela Gossow and later Alissa White-Gluz, who fronts the band today.
