Asphyx is a Dutch death/doom metal band formed in 1987 in Roosendaal, known for their crushing, mid-paced riffs and the distinctive guttural vocals of Martin van Drunen. Their sound blends slow, heavy doom passages with brutal old-school death metal, earning them a cult following in the extreme metal underground.
