About Au Pairs
Au Pairs were a British post-punk band from Birmingham, active in the early 1980s. Known for their politically charged lyrics addressing gender and sexuality, their sound blended angular guitar work, driving rhythms, and the contrasting male/female vocals of Lesley Woods and Paul Foad. Their debut album *Playing with a Different Sex* (1981) is considered a post-punk classic.
