Beth Gibbons is a British singer best known as the haunting vocalist and co-writer of Portishead, pioneers of the trip-hop genre. Her deeply emotive, fragile voice and introspective songwriting also appear on her solo work and her collaboration with Rustin Man (Paul Webb). Her music is characterized by melancholy, sparse arrangements, and raw emotional intensity.
