About Chicha Libre
Chicha Libre is a Brooklyn-based ensemble led by Olivier Conan that revives and reimagines chicha, a psychedelic cumbia style that originated in 1970s Peru. Their sound blends Amazonian rhythms, surf guitar twang, and vintage organ, drawing on the original tropical psychedelia of groups like Los Mirlos and Juaneco y su Combo.
