DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jeffrey Allen Townes) is a Philadelphia-born DJ and producer best known for his partnership with Will Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. Celebrated for his turntablist skills and smooth, sample-driven hip-hop production, he won the first-ever Grammy for Rap in 1989. He later built a respected career as a solo producer known for soulful, jazz-infused beats.
