Grandaddy is an American indie rock band formed in Modesto, California in 1992, led by Jason Lytle. Known for their melancholic, lo-fi sound blending electronic textures with acoustic instrumentation, they explore themes of technology, nature, and alienation. Their 2000 album *The Sophtware Slump* is widely regarded as their masterpiece.
