Hugh Cornwell is a British rock musician best known as the former lead vocalist and guitarist of The Stranglers, with whom he shaped the punk and new wave movement of the late 1970s and 1980s. Following his departure from the band in 1990, he pursued a solo career blending rock, new wave, and alternative sounds with his distinctive baritone vocals and guitar work.
