About KAHIL EL’ZABAR ETHNIC HERITAGE ENSEMBLE
Kahil El'Zabar's Ethnic Heritage Ensemble is a long-running Chicago group founded in the 1970s, rooted in the AACM tradition. Led by percussionist Kahil El'Zabar on drums, kalimba, and other instruments, the ensemble blends free jazz improvisation with African rhythms and spiritual jazz textures.
