About Konono Nº1
Konono Nº1 is a Congolese musical group from Kinshasa, founded by Mingiedi Mawangu. They are known for their hypnotic, distorted sound built around likembé (thumb pianos) amplified through handmade megaphones and scavenged electronics. Their raw, trance-inducing style blends traditional Bazombo music with an electrified urban grit.
