Maldita Vecindad y los Hijos del Quinto Patio is a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in the 1980s. They are known for blending rock with ska, cumbia, and traditional Mexican sounds, becoming pioneers of the rock en español movement. Their energetic live shows and socially conscious lyrics made them icons of Latin alternative music.
