Memphis Slim (born Peter Chatman, 1915–1988) was an American blues pianist and singer known for his sophisticated, boogie-woogie-inflected piano style and smooth vocals. He recorded prolifically from the 1940s onward and became a cultural ambassador for the blues, settling in Paris in 1962 where he gained wide European acclaim.
