Moonspell are a Portuguese gothic/black metal band formed in Lisbon in 1992. Known for blending dark, atmospheric gothic metal with black metal roots, their sound features haunting synths, deep baritone vocals from Fernando Ribeiro, and occult lyrical themes. They are one of Southern Europe's most prominent extreme metal acts.
