Opeth is a Swedish progressive metal band formed in Stockholm in 1989, led by vocalist and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt. Known for blending extreme metal with acoustic passages, jazz, and progressive rock, their sound evolved from death metal-rooted albums to fully clean, prog-focused works in later years.
