Rev Run, born Joseph Simmons, is a founding member of the legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC, pioneers of the genre in the 1980s. Known for his hard-hitting rhymes over rock-infused beats, he helped bridge hip-hop and rock music. He has also released solo gospel rap material in later years.
