Shining is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1999 by Jørgen Munkeby, known for their deeply depressive and misanthropic sound. Their early work is rooted in raw, atmospheric black metal with themes of self-destruction and nihilism. Over time, the band evolved to incorporate jazz and avant-garde elements into their extreme metal foundation.
