Sister Nancy is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall deejay, born Ophlin Russell, who rose to prominence in the early 1980s. She is best known for her 1982 hit "Bam Bam," one of the most sampled songs in hip-hop history. She was a pioneering female voice in dancehall music.
