Melbourne-based soul outfit Steppers arrive in 2026 with a bold statement of intent. Unbound by any single approach to songwriting or performance, their six-track debut album, released on 18 April 2026, showcases the depth of the band's collective experience, musicianship and creative vision. Led by the beats and vocals of the esteemed Reginald AK, Steppers draw on deep roots within Australia’s rich music community, with connections spanning The Bamboos, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Ausecuma Beats, Bumpy, and Kylie Auldist. Blending warm Rhodes melodies, crisp Telecaster grooves, driving basslines and vibrant horn arrangements, the group delivers a distinctive and contemporary take on soul, funk and R&B.
