Jazz-Funk Soul Jazz Smooth Jazz R&B

The Crusaders are a Los Angeles-based jazz-funk group formed in the 1950s, originally known as the Jazz Crusaders. Featuring core members Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, and Stix Hooper, they helped define the soul-jazz and jazz-funk sound of the 1970s with smooth, groove-driven arrangements. Their 1979 hit "Street Life" featuring Randy Crawford became one of their most iconic recordings.
