The Headhunters are an American jazz-funk band formed in San Francisco in the early 1970s, originally as Herbie Hancock's backing group. Known for blending hard funk grooves with jazz improvisation, their 1973 album *Head Hunters* became one of the best-selling jazz records of its era.
