About The Roots
The Roots are a Philadelphia-based hip-hop collective known for their rare use of live instrumentation in rap music. Led by drummer Questlove and MC Black Thought, they blend jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop into a rich, organic sound. They have served as the house band for NBC's The Tonight Show since 2009.
