The xx are a British indie pop band formed in London in 2005, known for their minimalist sound built on sparse guitar, deep basslines, and hushed, intimate vocals. Their self-titled debut album (2009) won the Mercury Prize. Member Jamie xx is also acclaimed as a solo electronic producer.
