Yothu Yindi

Indigenous Australian World Music Rock Folk Rock

Yothu Yindi is an Australian band from Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, founded in 1986 and led by the late Mandawuy Yunupiŋu. They blend traditional Yolŋu Aboriginal music — including yidaki (didgeridoo) and ceremonial singing — with rock and pop influences. Their 1991 hit "Treaty" became an iconic anthem for Indigenous Australian rights.
