Youssou NdourMbalaxYoussou N'Dour is a Senegalese singer, songwriter, and politician widely regarded as one of Africa's most influential vocalists. He pioneered the mbalax genre, blending traditional Wolof percussion with Cuban, jazz, soul, and pop influences. He gained international acclaim through collaborations with Peter Gabriel and the hit "7 Seconds" with Neneh Cherry.
