Beirut is the project of American musician Zach Condon, known for blending Balkan brass, French chanson, and Eastern European folk influences with indie pop sensibilities. His lush, orchestral arrangements feature ukulele, trumpet, and accordion, topped with his distinctive baritone voice. Debut album "Gulag Orkestar" (2006) established his globally-influenced, chamber-folk sound.
