Eddie Boyd was a Chicago blues pianist and vocalist, born in Mississippi in 1914. Known for his smooth, understated piano style and melancholic vocal delivery, he scored a hit with "Five Long Years" in 1952. He later relocated to Europe, where he remained active until his death in 1994.
