Emperor is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1991, widely regarded as pioneers of the symphonic black metal genre. Known for their dense, orchestral guitar work, atmospheric synths, and aggressive yet melodic compositions, their landmark album "In the Nightside Eclipse" (1994) is considered a cornerstone of the genre.
