Everclear is an American alternative rock band formed in Portland, Oregon in 1991, led by vocalist and guitarist Art Alexakis. Known for raw, confessional lyrics drawn from Alexakis's troubled upbringing, the band blended crunchy guitar-driven post-grunge with melodic punk sensibilities. They rose to mainstream prominence with albums like "Sparkle and Fade" (1995) and "So Much for the Afterglow" (1997).
