Helmet is a New York City band formed in 1989 by guitarist and vocalist Page Hamilton, known for their heavy, down-tuned guitar riffs, precise rhythmic attack, and minimalist aesthetic. Their 1992 album Meantime was a landmark of alternative metal, influencing countless bands in the 1990s heavy music scene.
