About Miami Vice

MIAMI VICE is the current alias of New Zealand–born producer Jonny Bundellu, now based on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, quietly operating somewhere between a dubwise party and heavyweight bass pressure. For years he’s moved through the underground under various names — Jonny Boinkin, The Brains Trust, Mank Industries — leaving behind a trail of cult releases, studio sessions and late-night Soundsystem moments that those who were there still talk about. These days it’s simply Miami Vice. With a reputation that travels by word of mouth, he’s the kind of artist who somehow ends up on the right lineups at the right time — landing support sets for serious acts and leaving rooms slightly stunned when the system cools down. The sort of set where people turn to each other halfway through like “what is this?” and by the end the dancefloor’s rinsed. Built for proper rigs and open-minded crowds, Miami Vice blends deep bass pressure, dusty sampling, Version Party and dub-soaked rhythms into something that feels both raw and strangely beautiful. Not chasing hype.
