Sally AllsortsDownbeatSally Allsorts went to their first rave many moons ago with a bunch of older kids from high school. It was here they learned making friends with the weird kids was a sure fire way to live a good life, community is what you make it, giants have shoulders that they’ll let you stand on, family means showing up and doing the work and deep true love can be found in and between the beat.
Thankfully not much has changed in the intervening years. Sally has been involved in the scene in various guises since those sweet early days and has been running the much loved Oasis (AKA Sanctuary) space at Earth Frequency Festival for a few years - a place to feel like you're home - to find the space between the beats, because we all find our own way here but the ultimate aim is connection.
SAMp3JungleI’ve written a bunch of these, and read so many more. They are always in third person, as if they’ve been written by a publicist, when in reality, we all now the person it’s about wrote it themselves. Bio’s have basically been reduced to some fucked up version of a resume: ‘I’ve played at name drop festival, and supported super star DJ, please validate me. Fuck bios man.
This is my bio. My not-DJ-name is Samie. I fell in love with long form music a long time ago, thanks to progressive metal bands making non-stop concept albums. I love music that makes me visualise a drama or sci-fi epic unfolding in my mind. I get bored quickly, I need contrast. I want to feel as many things as music can make me feel. My never-ending dig for something new continues. It’s encouraged me to dance around the edges of the drum and bass and jungle spectrum, crossing over into unfamiliar territories, trying to find something that doesn’t sound like something else. It feels like I’ve crawled over its entirety, untucked every corner, to discover more corners. Sometimes I’ve found myself entering into other mysterious realms within dub, techno, industrial and cinematic genres. These cross-over points between the far corners of each of these spectrums is where I’ve honed my style as a DJ.
Every set of tunes is an opportunity to show a daring listener what is out there, beyond distinction, further beyond where they may have thought the end was to be. There’s no denying, I love energy in music, but the energy in the music I’ve been unveiling recently commands a different type of engagement. Whilst a dance floor is a place to connect, it’s also a place for introspection. I’ve had life changing epiphanies on dance floors, connected to the music and the journey the DJ provides. It’s my personal mission to provide a soundscape suitable for anyone courageous enough to turn inward and experience their own version of this.

TOBO and BakstaThe alliance of TOBO & Baksta was forged in the late 2000s amidst the tropical lifestyle of Far North Queensland. What began as a partnership playing regional clubs and bush festivals quickly matured into DEPTH — a collective that bridged the gap between local talent and international heavyweights.
Following a strategic relocation to Melbourne in 2015, the pair solidified their presence in Australia's electronic capital. They became staples of the city's premier circuits, from the legendary mornings at Revolver Upstairs to the dark corners of Killing Time and Railway Hotel.
Their studio output followed suit, with signature releases on Recovery Collective, Smash Bang, Suck Music and Kaleidoscopic Earth, leading to consistent airtime on Kiss FM Melbourne.
Today, the brand has evolved into DEPTH Melbourne — a high-definition media platform and live performance series. Documenting artists in the country's most breathtaking landscapes, from the Winton Wetlands to the alpine peaks of Mt Buller, the project has set a new standard for cinematic music culture in Australia.
In 2026, TOBO & Baksta are entering their most ambitious era yet. Transitioning into a strictly original live act, the duo has spent the past years in the studio refining a sound that is as much at home in a sun-drenched festival clearing as it is in a dimly lit basement.
