Queensrÿche is an American progressive metal band formed in Bellevue, Washington in 1980, known for their complex compositions, soaring vocals, and conceptual albums. Their 1988 concept album Operation: Mindcrime is widely regarded as a landmark of the genre, followed by the mainstream breakthrough Empire in 1990.
