Shelter is a New York-based hardcore punk band formed in 1990 by Ray Cappo, formerly of Youth of Today. Deeply influenced by Vaishnavism and Krishna consciousness, their music blends fast, aggressive hardcore with spiritual and devotional themes. They are considered pioneers of the "Krishna-core" subgenre.
