The Beta Band were a Scottish alternative rock group formed in Edinburgh in the mid-1990s, known for their eclectic blend of indie rock, folk, psychedelia, and lo-fi electronica. Their self-titled 1999 debut album and 2001's "Hot Shots II" showcased their layered, genre-defying sound and wry, hypnotic songwriting. They disbanded in 2004 after releasing four studio albums.
