The Middle East were an Australian indie folk band from Townsville, Queensland, known for their sprawling, atmospheric sound blending folk instrumentation with lush arrangements. They released the acclaimed EP "The Recordings of the Middle East" and the album "I Want That You Are Always Happy" before disbanding in 2011.
