About The Riddim Squad
The Riddim Squad are a heavyweight rhythm section drawing influence from the long history of Jamaican reggae music - from the vintage sounds of ska, reggae, dub and rocksteady to modern steppers, dancehall and drum and bass. The Riddim Squad features an array of East Coast reggae afficianados - keyboardist Andy V (Dub FX), bassist Rudi Quinzalez (Island Vibe Festival founder), guitarist Tom Kelly (Sky Eater) and drummer Kushi Aragon (Mohilaa). Together, they unleash a bass-forward fusion of gritty reggae, soulful originals and hypnotic reworks. They are joined by guest vocalists, including Empress Katia, one of Australia’s most high profile Sound System MCs. Designed for bass heavy sound systems, The Riddim Squad deliver a magnetic, high-vibration performance.
