The Undertones were a punk rock band from Derry, Northern Ireland, formed in 1974 and known for their melodic, energetic sound. They are best remembered for the classic "Teenage Kicks" (1978), championed by DJ John Peel. Their music blended raw punk energy with catchy pop hooks and youthful themes.
