Violent Femmes are an American alternative rock band formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1980, led by Gordon Gano. Known for their acoustic-driven, folk-punk sound and angst-filled lyrics, their 1983 self-titled debut album became a college rock classic featuring songs like "Blister in the Sun" and "Add It Up."
